How to Search for Graduate School Funding: Home

Helping current and admitted UW graduate students learn the skills and tools to find funding

Know Your Options

Quick Tips: Timing is everything!

  • The earlier you start searching, the more awards will be available
  • Ideally, start searching a year before you will need the funds
  • Most deadlines for scholarships, fellowships, and grants are 6-12 months before they pay out
  • Assistantships have quicker turnaround times, often months to weeks before the start date
