EndNote - Basic (Online) & Desktop

This guide contains information on the citation management tool EndNote. Content references both the Basic (Online/Free) version and the Desktop (Paid) version.

"Find Full Text" is ONLY available while you are ON CAMPUS or using Husky OnNet

To use the Find Full Text feature, you must configure EndNote preferences properly.

In EndNoteX20 and 21: Edit> Preferences > Find Full Text.

If you have an older version: EndNote X8 > Preferences > Find Full Text (Mac) or  EndNote X9 > Edit > Preferences > Find Full Text,

In all cases, ensure all checkboxes are checked, and enter the following:

OpenURL Path:   https://orbiscascade-washington.primo.exlibrisgroup.com

URL:  http://offcampus.lib.washington.edu:80/login?url=http://www.lib.washington.edu

EndNote Preferences, Find Full Text. Add the OpenURL path and the authentication URL.

Click OK

NOTE: If you are working off campus, you must use Husky OnNet for the Find Full Text feature to work.
VERY IMPORTANT: please be selective about downloading full text articles this way. You can download one folder of material at a time. Click on the Select Folder and then click on Enable Automatic Importing so that you are not doing a massive download and triggering a Vendor shutdown. Mass downloads may trigger journal vendor action.
